Getting started

What is Obra?
Field management software built for licensed trade contractors — job tracking, daily logs, photos, change orders, and a client portal in one place, replacing paper and spreadsheets on site.
Who is it for?
Contractors running field crews of any size: electricians, plumbers, roofers, HVAC, concrete subs, general contractors, and remodelers.
Is there a free trial?
Yes — 30 days, no credit card required.
Do I need to get my crew or clients set up on paid accounts?
No. Field worker and client access are always free — only the contractor's company pays.

Pricing & plans

How much does Obra cost?

Are field workers or clients charged?
No — field worker and client access are always free. Only the contractor pays.
Can I get more job slots without upgrading?
Yes — paying annually, a verified 5-star review, or each active paying referral adds bonus job slots.
What happens if I go over my storage limit?
You'll get a notification at 80% and 95% usage. At 100%, new uploads pause — nothing already stored is deleted.

Roles & access

Who can see what?
Every item — a photo, a log, a change order — has a client-visible toggle, so you control exactly what your client sees.
What can clients do in the portal?
Clients get free, read-only access: live job progress, transparent change order history, and the ability to submit requests.
What can field workers do?
Field workers log daily activity, photos, and items from the job site — at no cost to the crew.

Data, privacy & security

Is my project data secure?
Yes — data is stored with Supabase (hosted on AWS) with row-level security, so each company's data is isolated from every other company's.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
A lapsed account keeps read-only access to its archived jobs; data is deleted within 30 days of account closure.
Do you sell or share my data?
No — Obra does not share data commercially. Full details are in the Privacy Policy.

Bilingual support

Does Obra work in Spanish?
Yes — the app and client portal are fully bilingual, English and Spanish, across every role.
